Over Budget
A project is burning hours faster than planned. What PayMe detects and what you can do.
A project is at risk of going over budget
The intelligence layer catches this before it becomes a crisis.
How PayMe detects it
The system monitors burn rate (hours logged per day vs budgeted per day), remaining buffer, and whether open task estimates exceed remaining budget. If the trajectory suggests the project will exceed its budget, it raises a warning.
What the PM sees
- Red chip on the project card — appears automatically.
- Morning briefing — includes a budget warning with projected overage.
- Telegram — ask anytime:
budget health for [project name].
What to do
- Reallocate hours — transfer budget from an under-budget member to an over-budget one within the same period.
- Reduce scope — close or trim tasks that aren't critical.
- Add budget — increase the period budget if the client agrees to additional hours. Pair with a FiC quote amendment.
After any change, the system recalculates budget health. If the trajectory is now healthy, the warning clears.
